Election Day

It is election day here in Virginia, and across the U.S. It is time to get out and vote. There were a good number of people in line at my voting place this morning, and that is a good sign to me. Much has been made of this particular election and what will happen particularly to the incumbent candidates. Will this be the voter upheaval that was predicted? Is this a mandate to return to fiscal responsibility and representative government? Is having one party in power a good thing in the country?

I'm sure we all have an opinion about those and other questions. That may be one of the greatest freedoms we take for granted, that of freedom to express our opinions. That and the right to vote.

We will have to wait for the results to come out to see some of the answers. I just know that getting the American people fired up about elections and political agendas does not happen easily.

I am just glad that all the election ads will be disappearing from prime time television for a while.
