Happy Birthday USA!

On this most patriotic day when we in the U.S. celebrate our independence day, I'd like to wish us all a happy birthday. From our humblest beginnings many years ago and through many chaotic times that tried men's souls we have maintained our freedom. Not always in the best way possible, but always.

Today with all our many differences in cultural practices, religious beliefs, socioeconomic standing, and heritage we celebrate the fact that in this country we can all follow different drummers, so long as we don't hurt ourselves or our neighbors in the process. America is a great mosaic; her people so different and yet so similar in fundamental pursuits -- life, liberty, and happiness.

So happy birthday America! You have been tested many times and endured many hardships, but you never looked so good. Many happy returns!
