Quake!!!

It was 1:51 pm eastern time on Tuesday when the shaking and loud noise started. I was sitting at the kitchen table and within a few seconds knew this was not like any noise or vibration I had ever felt before. Earthquake! I stood up and heard a few picture frames topple off the den shelves. Then I thought about the flat panel TV falling off the wall, which thankfully did not happen.

Emily was upstairs and I yelled up to her. She said "are we having an earthquake"?

Yep.

The whole thing lasted about 15-20 seconds.

An earthquake! Right here in Virginia!

Moving In Day

We moved Philip into his house in Harrisonburg Friday. Three cars full of his stuff. The rain held off all afternoon while we unloaded, which was a blessing. He will be living with 8 other guys in a really big house off-campus called the Dude Ranch. Thanks to our friend Terry, he has a like-new bed, dresser, and a huge TV and stand, along with our old wicker furniture. I kinda hope the furniture never comes back home.

We also took him food shopping, which was quite an experience. I hope the child does not starve this year, since he will be responsible for many of his own meals. They have two kitchens, so no excuses for not having meals fixed when he needs them.

Junior year.

Wow!

Vacation In August

We took a family vacation to Isle of Palms on the only week we could all be together this summer. Philip came home on Friday night, and we all packed up and left Saturday morning for South Carolina.

None of us had ever been to this place, but it is fabulous. The picture is the view from our balcony looking out onto the beach.
