Reflections on February

I have a hard time even pronouncing this month correctly. Feb ru ary. But as I mention in the eZine this month, February has a whole lot going for it. Being shorter than everyone else is no fun, but it does make you unique. Just because you are short in stature does not mean that you can't have lots of good features.
Having multiple holidays, being designated as Black History Month, featuring the Super Bowl and President's Day, it really is hard not to like little February. Feb ru ary.

And this year we get an additional day. Feb ru ary 29th. Know anyone who was born on that day? What are your plans for that day? Our extra leap-year day.

I think I will celebrate the month of February on the 29th. Feb ru ary. Maybe I will practice saying the word for the rest of the month.

Cheers!

Super Bowl Results

I really enjoyed the Super Bowl this year. Start to finish, it was hard-nosed, low-scoring, unfancy football. The way championship games are supposed to be. I think the team that won must have wanted it a little bit more than the team that was nearly perfect.

So once again we confirm that my Miami Dolphins team from 1972 is the perfect team. And more than that we prove that perfection is too elusive in today's world, and we should be more worried with winning the important game than with setting records, running up the score, or being perfect.

Hard work and determination will get you there. Attempts at perfection will not. One game at a time.
